If you are interested in talking with the New York Arts Program
representative, SU Alumnus Eric Feldman '08, he will be on campus next
Thursday, November 19th to talk with interested students about
interning in New York City. Eric is an alumnus of the NYAP and is
currently a member of their staff. He interned with Ensemble Studio
Theatre in Fall 2007.
Former SU students have interned with record labels, MTV, NBC Nightly
News, professional artists and sculptors, publishing firms, SNL,
fashion designers, magazines, Marvel Comics, talent agencies, major
advertising firms and many more.
The New York Arts Program is a great opportunity to gain real world
experience in an arts-related field whether you are a Studio Art major
or a Business major. You are able to earn up to 16 upper-level credit
hours during a spring or fall semester by participating in this
program. Several of our SU students have been able return to NYC
after graduation within their chosen career field based on contacts
made through this program.
With a new leadership team, the New York Arts Program (formerly the
GLCA New York Arts Program) has also now partnered with the Ensemble
Studio Theater to offer a Summer Conservatory Program. This new
program is designed for students interested in pursuing acting,
playwriting or directing. It is a six-week program which will allow
participants to study with master professionals in the art of new play
development. The summer conservatory program will feature a
culminating project at the completion of the six weeks.
For more information about signing up to talk with Eric, please
contact Career Services at x1346, or reply by email to
krugerm@southwestern.edu.
